Kathleen S. Wilson has been passionate about education for as long as she can remember.  Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY she attended a Catholic school through the 8th grade. As a student she was often relegated to the back of the room because of her talking and poor performance on classroom tests.  She struggled to ‘fit in’, in a system that depended on rote memory and a strict code of behavior.  She rarely had a star on the Star Chart.
Kathi and her family moved after 8th grade to Long Island where she attended public high school.  She qualified for gifted classes and graduated at 16.  Kathi attended Marywood University receiving a BS in Secondary Education and later attended Rider University where she earned her MS in Counseling Education and her MEd. in School Administration.
Working with other young parents she opened a licensed preschool outside of Princeton, New Jersey. Years later, she was one of a group who advocated for school district reform of leadership and policy for the betterment of education and services for all stakeholders in suburban Philadelphia.  This resulted in widespread reform and renewed energy focusing on one district - one goal for all students.
Kathi has extensive experience in working as a volunteer parent in the schools.  She served as PTO president for 5 years - working closely with administration, teachers and parents.  Kathi, along with her team grew monthly attendance at meetings from 20 to over 100.  This work allowed her to develop an appreciation and understanding as a parent, of the parent/teacher relationship and effective communication.
Kathi has over 20 years experience as a teacher, counselor/advocate, school and special education administrator.  How children learn and respond to instruction is what drives her work.  Kathi’s understanding of children keeps her focused on who they are as growing individuals.
She has worked with children from Kindergarten through high school.  Kathi has partnered with parents, outside providers and school teams in hundreds of 504, learning evaluations and IEP meetings to design learning environments that benefit everyone.  A believer in lifelong education she strives to understand the child in the context of school today - so they will be ready to tackle the world of tomorrow.
